
Charmaine is a passionate composer and violinist, currently residing in Los Angeles to pursue her passions in the film music industry. She graduated from Berklee College of Music, with a Bachelor's of music degree, Summa cum Laude, as a violin principal, majoring in Film Scoring. Charmaine composes music for visual media such as short films and animations. She particularly enjoys scoring orchestral music, as well as exploring sound design. Charmaine has worked with the music team at Dreamworks Animation in California, and has gained incredible experiences in the Hollywood animation music industry. She strongly believes in the power of music to carry authentic emotions of visuals, and for music to speak the voice of a story. She hopes to use music to bring across inspiring messages and she is constantly finding new ways where music can speak through film, television and new media.
As a passionate violinist and recipient of the Berklee Asian scholarship award, Charmaine studied with Julianne Lee (Boston Symphony Orchestra), and Sandra Kott (New England Conservatory) while in Boston. Charmaine has performed with the Berklee Contemporary Symphony Orchestra, Audire Soundtrack Choir orchestra, Berklee/BOCO Recording orchestra in prominent venues like the Boston Symphony hall, Jordan Hall, MIT Kresege hall and Berklee Performance Center. Charmaine has also recorded violin for numerous student compositions and for professionally released songs, and has worked as a session violinist at the Film scoring department. She is also passionate about work with children, having been a volunteer at the Boston Children Museum and the Kidsjam weekly session at Berklee, teaching children music with interactive ideas.
